The Animation Studio

RKA was set up in 1984 by Harry Rasmussen & John Kratovil (the R and the K of RKA). The Studio has gone through many changes although John Kratovil has always been the Directing Animator. RKA specializes in Classical 2D Animation. However when requested to do 3D the animation is approached in a traditional manner with Animatics Timings and final line Animation forming the basis for 3D rendering and compositing.We have been using the Animo software package which is according to USA Animation Magazine, “One of the world’s finest 2D animation systems.” Animo™ gives us much faster turnaround times with all the benefits that digital technology brings to the production process.
